La Beula

Italy // Como

2020 // 2024

La Beula Magazine is an independent cultural editorial project born from the La Beula association, founded in 2019 by young creatives from the province of Como. Rooted in the Brianza Lariana area, the magazine explores and celebrates the (extra)ordinary stories of the region through intimate and participatory cultural journalism, available both online and in paper version. Its pages intertwine narration, photography, illustration, drawing, graphics and writing, offering a multidimensional approach to local culture.

Guided by the philosophy "We were born in the province", expressed in the editorial of the first issue, La Beula Magazine aims to connect communities, amplify local voices and promote greater cultural awareness. Through the story of places, people, initiatives and ideas, it contributes to building a stronger and more aware cultural network in its home province.

  • 2023 // Brigandia

takes its name from a legendary term, briefly resurfaced in the 15th century. This issue intertwines stories, experiences and reflections, exploring the region's identity through history, memory and imagination. I participate in the project by writing an article together with Silvia Biffi and illustrating it with some drawings

  • 2021 // When the fish flew

It is the "once upon a time" of fairy tales and popular legends, particularly of the Brianza and Larian culture. A formula to announce to the reader that the story that is about to be told happened a long, long time ago. Perhaps only imagined. I illustrate each edition of these legends rewritten by Francesco Camagna
