NEGUS

Negus is the latest exhibition presented at Spazio Lampo by the collective Chárōn, an exhibition project that explores the transformation of Anthropocene landscapes through site-specific installations and symbolic narratives.

At the heart of the exhibition is the theme of the boundary, examined through the mythological figure of Negus, who refuses to be confined, instead crossing, shifting, and ultimately dissolving borders. Massive iron profiles cut through the exhibition space, overturning the perception of an enclosed environment and questioning the fragility of demarcations.

Chárōn employs the practice of appropriation and estrangement to reflect on the use of landscape, addressing one of the most pressing issues of contemporary times. The installation is completed by the sound composition Stealing the Limits by John Mirabel, which accompanies Negus’ boundless journey between nature and territory. The encounter with the sound of a bell—a symbol of the absurdity of spatial delimitation—marks a moment of crisis: frightened, Negus steals it and flees, embarking on an endless escape that removes him from our perception.
